That’s why we partner with our local gear shops to host free events designed to build skills, spark conversations, and connect people who love the mountains. We also participate in fun community gatherings that celebrate the backcountry, bringing people together not just to learn, but to enjoy the culture and camaraderie that come with mountain life.

Beyond our monthly talks, BVMA joins events that celebrate backcountry culture and connect people beyond the classroom. From film nights and gear demos to festivals and awareness campaigns, these gatherings highlight the joy of mountain life and offer chances to learn, share, and build community.

GARNA WinterFest At The Lariat

GARNA and Buena Vista Mountain Adventures are excited to present a night of winter-themed films and live music at The Lariat on January 28! Adventure through Colorado's snow-covered landscapes with us through screenings of Reilly Kaczmarek's The Colorado 14ers Project, Mike Douglas's Sam & Me, and Amie Engerbretson's Blue Hour. Stay after the short forms for live music by a local band and a raffle of experiences and items from Buena Vista Mountain Adventures, Protect Our Winters, and more. This fundraiser will directly benefit GARNA's work on promoting the health and resiliency of the Arkansas River Valley Watershed.
